Every September, in a small fishing town called Kinsale in West Cork, Ireland, overlooking the wild Atlantic ocean, creative people from all over the world (writers, directors, producers, editors, animators, photographers, muso’s etc) assemble hoping to receive an award for their creative endeavours. The awards are called the Kinsale Sharks. The friendly festival is unlike any other, partly because the location (some of the best pubs, restaurants and views) but also because of the ‘vibe’ - creative, alternative and cool.

This year we are launching the inaugural Sharks Shorts and Music Video Awards, which will run the day before the regular Ad Festival. Due to IPTV there has been an increase in demand for short form content and a lot of companies are now making Shorts/Branded Content and MV’s, sometimes with excruciatingly low budgets. Often these are regarded as creative opportunities. Our judges are all commissioners of moving image content, so it’ll be a great way to get some decent exposure for the creators. Recognition of creative brilliance in these fields will be promoted globally.

We have included craft awards and kept the entry fee to a very low price (just €30).

You can find more details on the website.

We guarantee once you’ve been to the Kinsale Sharks the first thing you’ll do when you return home is book again for 2016
