Kate Halpin directs a trio for BlueChew
CANADA director Kate Halpin has delivered a parody trio where scandalous confessions unfold in interrogation rooms, medieval castles, and true-crime interviews.
The campaign, consisting of the films Group Chat, Interrogation, and Pillow Talk, marks Kate Halpin’s debut project with CANADA's Los Angeles office since joining the production house’s global roster last year.
Stepping away from the traditional and sterile aesthetics of the pharmaceutical category, Halpin leans into a world of colourful production design and meticulous art direction for men’s health brand BlueChew, produced by CANADA in Sofia. Working alongside DOP Urszula Pontikos, Halpin’s campaign transforms domestic spaces into stylised stages for the absurd, marked by her deadpan delivery.

The work was written and art directed in-house, with BlueChew Creative Director Riley Shine collaborating closely with Halpin and CANADA from the earliest stages of development. By involving the director earlier than usual in this type of process, Halpin and the team curated a selection of scripts that best suited her visual language, allowing the brand to flex its internal creative muscle.
A key pillar of the collaboration was a commitment to avoiding objectification; the team sought a "pure and relatable" perspective that felt balanced and inclusive. Halpin’s female gaze was instrumental in ensuring the humour remained even-handed, moving the conversation away from "fixing" a problem and toward celebrating better sex.
