Jon Hamm’s unrequited love with Progressive’s Flo
Yes, you read that correctly. Movie star Jon Hamm is appearing in the latest Progressive TV spots.
Creative agency, Arnold have worked with Progressive to create a love interest-themed narrative that is spread across three :30 spots, three :15s, social, and digital.
In the first of spot, Hamm runs into Flo and crew on the street. He recognises Flo from a blind date years ago. While Flo is hoping to save him money with Snapshot, she ends up stealing his heart! This epic love story is one for the ages, and one you’ll have to wait to watch unfold as they premiere throughout June and July.
The Superstore campaign has been airing for 14 years with nearly 200 ads featuring Flo, who has become a “celebrity” in and of herself. This campaign brings a hilarious, fresh twist to the true testament of Flo’s character, her unwavering love of insurance.

Arnold’s CCO Sean McBride said: “Flo’s love for insurance is singular and unwavering. It’s one of the traits that’s defined that character for the last 15 years. What I think makes this new storyline so funny is that we’re testing the limits of that commitment. Is her love of insurance just as unwavering when she’s being pursued romantically by someone famous and charismatic, and seemingly way out of her league? Can she stop thinking about insurance long enough to even notice, much less reciprocate? It’s an entirely new direction for our long-standing character to, and we’re excited for the world to see the story unfold.”
