Jim Gilchrist opens Barn Door Films
The director has opened a new production company which reflects his belief in "a more agile, efficient approach".
Award-winning commercials director Jim Gilchrist has launched Barn Door Films, a new production company based in London.
With over two decades of experience, Gilchrist continues to work with his long-standing production team, assembled over the course of his directorial career.
Gilchrist started his career in agency production at Fallon London, before training as a director at the Rockport Film School in Maine. He later returned to London and working through leading production companies including MJZ, Outsider and Rattling Stick, creating award-winning work for brands like Tango, Macmillan and Comfort.
Gilchrist says that Barn Door Films reflects his belief that modern production demands a more agile, efficient approach, and that the company will focus on delivering exceptional work while minimising waste and maximising clients' budget on screen. With an emphasis on collaboration and creativity, Barn Door Films aims to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
"At Barn Door," says Gilchrist, "our approach is simple: stay small, think big and always strive for brilliance with a relentless commitment to quality, detail and craftsmanship — and have fun doing it."
