“Marielle Franco was murdered because she stood for everything that bothers right-wing extremists. And you can feel her power in her speeches, so we wanted to connect her voice and words to the thousands of street portraits representing her,” said Manir Fadel, Chief Creative Officer at VWLY&R Spain.
At the heart of this inspired campaign created by VMLY&R/Barcelona is a web app developed by Vetor Zero that transforms Marielle’s portrait into a portal for her voice, using facial recognition and AI. To hear her speak, you just point your phone at one of the many images of the politician.
The campaign launch includes video, A Voz de Marielle, while activists around Brazil have been flyposting and drawing graffiti of Marielle’s face and a QR code linking to the website.
