In the latest Google ad, produced by Park Village, Ian Wright motivates people to use their downtime to develop digital skills.

Pictured alongside commuters and real business owners, Wrighty shares career and business lessons. He explains how developing digital skills could boost their earning potential, their businesses or help them land new jobs.

Government figures show that almost a third of job openings can't be filled because of a lack of basic digital skills. The digital skills gap costs the UK an estimated £63 billion per year in lost potential GDP. Google’s online bitesize training courses teach a range of valuable skills which help to give people the skills needed to thrive in these roles and grow their businesses.

New research by Google has revealed that people believe they have no time to learn new skills, despite knowing it could help them. Google Search trends also show a +5000% increase in the number of people searching for how to make more money. In addition, figures show that 10 million UK workers are missing fundamental digital skills needed for today’s workplace. Google’s free courses are designed to help give more people the opportunity to gain those skills.

The creative campaign, Skills To Go, created by Redwood BBDO, produced by Park Village and directed by Elliot Simpson seeks to bring digital skills training to people at different times of the day, from the morning commute to the lunch break to after hours, and everywhere in between.
