Grillifilms is strengthening its team as Siiri Koponen, a producer and director with a diverse career and a broad creative background, joins the company.

Koponen also brings with her The Gødmadr Collective, an exclusive director representation that includes, in addition to herself, the award-winning film director Samppa Batal and Sonya Akulshina, known for her visually striking films.

Grillifilms CEO Hanna Tuovio sees Koponen’s arrival as an important step for the company’s future.

“We have a very exciting year ahead of us, and Siiri is an important part of it. She brings valuable perspective, experience and new energy to the development of the entire company. Her career so far is a living proof, that we value the same things: creativity, the meaning of storytelling and strong belief in quality. We are happy to provide a common ground where to exceed the expectations of our clients ” Tuovio says.

Tuovio adds that Koponen combines, in a rare way, the broad perspective of a producer with the creative vision of a director. Her way of working naturally continues the company’s long-standing approach, where the work always starts from the client’s needs and objectives.

“A strong working community means everything, and it’s wonderful to become part of this group,” Koponen says. “I especially value the fact that meaningful, long-term work is done here while keeping the client’s needs clearly at the centre. The fact that the company has been able to build such a strong and sustainable path over twenty years speaks of excellent leadership and a strong sense of community.”

Koponen has produced commercials and short films and worked in film productions both in Finland and internationally. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous brands and creative talents, and her work has also received international recognition. Her own path as a director began with the short film Hush (2025), which she wrote, directed and produced, and which won Gold at the Cannes Straight 8 Shootout.

Koponen is excited about her new working community. “I’m really looking forward to the coming year, and I’m very grateful for all the opportunities this collaboration will bring.”

Koponen also says that the art- and culture-supporting HI-HAT Art Bar, which she opened at the end of last year, will serve as a platform for shared ideas with Grillifilms and as a meeting place for creativity and people.
