Fran Colombatti joins Birth UK
Colombatti’s cinematic yet funny and quirky style caught Kate Elson’s eye and Birth are delighted to introduce him to the UK market.
Production company Birth UK welcomes Argentinian filmmaker Fran Colombatti for commercial representation in the UK.
Colombatti’s cinematic yet funny and quirky style caught Kate Elson’s eye and Birth are delighted to introduce him to the UK market. Colombatti has developed a pretty eclectic reel that ranges from musicals to puppets and VFX films. Most would describe him as a creative, detail-
oriented and hard-working director. He describes himself as a Boca Juniors fan.
“Fran first came to my attention when I saw LALCEC Don’t’ Fear the Finger film. I delved into the rest of his work and it took me the rest of the week to stop laughing. He has the ability to combine an irreverent sense of humour with empathy and detailed craft.” says Kate Elson EP Birth UK
Colombatti studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and Visual Arts at Central Saint Martins in London.
After working as an art director for Santo in the UK, and for Mother in Argentina, he moved to direct, first making short films, music videos and video installations. Former member of the directing duo 1985, Colombatti has won several international awards including a Cannes Lion for his Everybody Loves Boobs spot.
Colombatti was born in Argentina, but his Italian ancestors passed him his love for fine arts and pasta.
“I needed a partner to make top quality work but in a fresh way. A production company that shares my vision of going after the best ideas and having great respect for craft and detail. And above all, being good and honest people. So Birth was the best match to land on the UK market.”
