Framestore Pictures bolsters team with Murray Butler’s move to the UK from Framestore’s US studios and Anna Kennedy's promotion to EP.
In 2004 Butler relocated from Framestore’s London hub to the USA as one of the four founding members of Framestore’s New York studio, where he was instrumental in its success and the wider growth of Framestore’s operations across North America. Butler’s most recent projects include his monumental work directing the impactful United Nations Development Programme Don’t Choose Extinction film which launched just ahead of COP26, and the stunning, photoreal CG advert for SHEBA, Hope Reef.
“This is a very exciting time for me to be back home in the UK working alongside Anna and such a strong roster of talent,” said Murray Butler. “With the wealth of creativity, artistry and technology we have at Framestore we can create amazing content. As a director I can't wait to leverage all this talent and expertise and make some awesome work for our clients.”
Anna Kennedy joined Framestore in March 2020 and has proven to be a highly versatile producer, who’s already worked across multiple high-profile Framestore projects. Previously, Kennedy had a stellar advertising career in New Zealand on both the agency and production side and was most recently Head of TV Production at VMLY&R in Auckland. Anna started out her career at Saatchi & Saatchi before going on to Eight Films as Executive Producer.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Murray back to our London office and to celebrate Anna’s promotion to EP,” added Lottie Cooper, Managing Director, Advertising, TV & Immersive.
“We are reinforcing our commitment to the UK Advertising market, and the expanded roster includes acclaimed Directors such as one of Framestore’s founders, Mike McGee, ECD in London, William Bartlett, Stephen Goalby who worked on the title sequence for the Bond film No Time To Die, and the multi-award winning Sharon Lock, who recently directed the animation sequences for the phenomenally successful and multi-award winning spot, #Wombstories."
