Arts Academy Edit has announced the addition of Erin Nordstrom, an award-winning editor known for her instinctual storytelling style and lyrical approach to editing, to their roster of talent.

Nordstrom began in the advertising industry, where she developed her skill in shaping brand messages into compelling narratives for major brands such as Samsung, Toyota, NHL, Amazon, and Google.

She made her mark in documentary filmmaking with her feature-length debut, I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, an exploration of the band Wilco. This was followed by CaveDigger, a documentary that earned an Academy Award® nomination, demonstrating her ability to create visually engaging and emotionally resonant stories.

Her recent work, HBO’s Smartless: On the Road, featuring Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, is currently streaming on MAX, continuing to engage audiences with its innovative storytelling. In addition, Nordstrom’s latest project, Omnivore, a television series starring René Redzepi, examines the past, present, and future through the lens of food and is currently airing on Apple TV+.

Reflecting on her decision to join Arts Academy Edit, Nordstrom said, “The team at Arts Academy is not only incredibly talented, but also genuinely supportive. I deeply admire their commitment to empowering individuals through their creative work. It’s an honour to be part of such a great group, and I look forward to creating content that resonates with people.”

Peter Wiedensmith, co-founder of Arts Academy Edit, expressed his enthusiasm about Erin’s arrival, stating, "Erin’s work has a timeless quality, with a warmth and humanity that shines through. Her films create inviting worlds that draw you in, offering a glimpse into her heart and soul. Her storytelling blends humour, challenge, and vulnerability, creating a powerful and engaging combination. I’m delighted to have her join us, and look forward to working closely with her."
