Emily Freda Sharp joins Kode
Director behind the UN’s Cannes Lion and D&AD winner, The People’s Seat joins UK roster.
A director who strives to create playful, uncompromising, meaningful work, Emily Freda Sharp already has an established body of work, including Cannes Lions and D&AD winning content.
Kode announce Sharp joining the production studios impressive roster, where she will be represented in the UK for commercial work.
Born and based in London, Sharp heralds from a family of creatives, growing up inspired by the actors, musicians, filmmakers, and artists around her. At 15 she trod the boards at both Sadler’s Wells and The Royal Albert Hall, and joined Hermoine, Harry and Ron in the Potter films. Advertising beckoned after a stint as a runner and AD left her feeling the creative roles onset were out of reach. So whilst London celebrated the Olympics, Facebook purchased Instagram and YouTube ran its first OOH billboard campaign, Sharp turned to social media and began to experiment; putting her name to the first social-led campaign to win a Cannes Lion - The United Nations The People’s Seat.
Jack Goodwin, EP, Kode said about Sharp: “Emily is a brilliantly creative, diligent and enthusiastic director, with experience directing social-led and traditional advertising campaigns. It's for these reasons that we’re excited to be officially welcoming her to our roster, and can’t wait to see her growth.”
In the two years that Sharp has been commercially directing, she has worked with brands such as Net-A-Porter, American Express, GAP, Shiseido, Laithwaites, Burt’s Bees, Not on The High Street, Facebook, Method, Universal, and Unilever. Since 2021, she has worked in collaboration with some of the biggest agencies and brands; Dentsu McGarryBowen, Grey London, adam&eveddb, Pioneer, Headspace and Relentless - Monster Energy.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year than joining KODE. Having worked independently for the last few years I spent a long time considering which production company I wanted to join; In KODE I’ve found creative partners, expert guidance and a shared love of cult classics. What more could a girl ask for! I’m honoured to be in the company of so many directors I admire and can’t wait to see what exciting projects lie on the horizon.” said Emily Freda Sharp, Director, Kode.
