Dorothy Allen-Pickard has joined Common People Films for commercial representation in the UK. 

She is known for her distinctive storytelling that blends documentary, fiction, and theatrical techniques. Allen-Pickard’s films delve into complex social issues with nuance, empathy, and truthfulness, bringing to life the resilience of the human spirit. As the advertising industry leans into impactful and inclusive narratives, her socially engaged approach to filmmaking feels particularly timely.

Allen-Pickard describes her style as one that “merges the real with the performative,” capturing lived experiences with sensitivity and precision. Her work has premiered at majo international festivals, including the London Film Festival, Doc NYC, Sheffield DocFest, and Palm Springs, and has been showcased on platforms such as the BBC, PBS, and The Guardian.

In her commercial work, she has collaborated with major brands such as Google, Fitbit, Nike, Badoo, and Adidas. Through her work with Breach Theatre and Kestrel Theatre, she has also led transformative projects within prison systems, empowering individuals to share their experiences through theatre and film.
