For director Sami Abusamra deadpan isn’t just a job, it’s a goddamn way of life.

So whether he’s directing comedy legends like Caroline Quentin, comedy future-legends like Tash Demetriou, or non-comedy legends like Richard Branson, his work is built around unimpeachable performances and scripts drier than Ghandi’s flip flop.

Abusamra’s career started at MTV, working on shows like Gonzo with Zane Lowe and he’s gone on to make broadcast stuff for the BBC, commercial stuff for brands as diverse as Nike, Coors Light and Mitsubishi and has done so alongside agencies such as VCCP and M&C Saatchi.

He has delivered numerous mock doc projects including an award winning campaign for Mitsubishi and one for Dominos which featured ex-premier league player Jimmy Bullard.

Abusamra is currently shooting a TV comedy series for CBBC.

“Sami’s dry wit is there for all to see in some really excellent work for Mitsubishi and Domino’s, and we love the archetypically British feel of his comedy. The acting is always spot on and the visual side is getting better and better. We’re excited to join forces at this stage of his career – it feels like a great fit for us both.” says Cabell Hopkins, Partner and Exec Producer at Fat Lemon.
