“What I love about Nico’s work,” says Spears & Arrows Managing Director/Founder, Jason Wolk “is just the sheer inventive fun and theatricality of it. But on top of that, he has a real knack for casting and performance that you don’t often see in this kind of work. In his spots, the actors are never just pretty props to fill out the scenery, you really get a sense of personality and character from them. For me, that is what sets Nico apart and is the reason I pursued him and signed him. He’s a storyteller with a unique style that fits in perfectly with our roster of storytellers and with our motto: Defend the Story.”
Caicoya established his unique visual and storytelling style early on in his career, and two of his early commercials for Atletico Madrid earned Bronze Cannes Lions and were shown at the Museum of Modern Art in NY, and at the Reina Sophia Museum, in Madrid.
He has gone on to direct many award-winning campaigns for clients such as Nintendo, Coca Cola, Ikea, Disneyland, Turkish Airlines, Nissan, Dodge, Samsung, Panasonic, Swisscom, British Telecom, Canada Dry, McDonald’s, Skoda, Fiat, HSBC, Chrysler, Campari, and more. Caicoya lives in Madrid, Spain and works around the world. In addition to being fluent in the international language of storytelling, Nicolas also speaks French, Spanish, Italian, and English.
Caicoya joins a roster of S&A directors that includes Ago Panini, Anton Jøsef, Arni Thor Jonsson, Christina Hodnet, David Hicks, David Stoddart, Don Broida, Lisa Linke, Michael Uppendahl, Mick Wong, Olivier Staub, Rob Fiocca, Sasha Levinson, Steve Fuller, Timothy Kendall, and Wondo.
