Dior Rodriguez joins Underhill’s director roster
Underhill continues its commitment to championing filmmakers whose voices are distinct, globally minded, and rooted in craft and story.
Underhill announces the official roster signing of Dior Rodriguez, a New York based, Afro-Caribbean director whose collaboration with the company dates back to its earliest days.
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised between Washington Heights and her home island, Rodriguez brings a deeply personal perspective to her filmmaking. After earning her BFA in Directing from SUNY Purchase Conservatory, she began her career as an editor before transitioning into directing. Since 2021, she has built a body of work defined by documentary intimacy, strong visual composition, and culturally specific storytelling. Her work often draws from history, music, and lived experience to shape narratives that feel both precise and expansive.
Rodriguez has crafted some of the most honest and powerful work to date for companies like Walmart, Merck, Toyota, Amazon Music, Spotify, and more. She is known for films that are grounded in character and place. With Rodriguez officially joining the roster, Underhill continues its commitment to championing filmmakers whose voices are distinct, globally minded, and rooted in craft and story.
