Directed by Lucrecia Taormina and produced by FRIEND, the new promo toys with the three sisters of fate in Greek mythology.
It follows Jorja Smith and the French-Cuban twin sisters of Ibeyi trekking through a sandy landscape, following a line of rope to a well in the middle of the desert.
Taormina weaves this ambiguous and metaphorical tale in her characteristic hyperreal style, using an earthy colour palette that is contrasted by the bright colours of the flower petals.
It flows with the silky vocals of the artists, carrying the music through the visuals in every shot.
Speaking in a statement on the song and video, Lisa-Kaindé, one half of Ibeyi, said, “We knew we wanted to create something with Jorja that would be different from what we’ve done previously that would allow us to connect with the true meaning of the song. When we came across the three sisters of fate we knew immediately that it would be the right idea.”
