Introducing Formidable, the creative agency that’s thinking social-first, helping brands to connect with culture in the growing media landscape.  

Started by Co-Founders Nik Selman and Pete Gibbons, Formidable focuses on implementing fresh thinking to help brands create cut-through with audiences who spend increasingly more time online. Their core approach involves blending the mindsets behind advertising, PR and entertainment, to deliver multi-platform social media campaigns that offer measured impact.

Pete Gibbons comes from a longstanding creative background, having spent the last two decades creating content with a focus on the evolving digital landscape, from the early days of YouTube to the current growth of TikTok. Prior to founding Formidable, he was a producer at the BBC, Head of Content in the launch team of COPA90, and produced the UK’s first scripted content series for social media, BAFTA-nominated internet drama, KateModern.

Nik Selman comes from a strategic public relations and content background, having spent over a decade at renowned PR agency Freuds before joining Gibbons to start Formidable. Selman has overseen major campaigns for brands such as Sky, Vodafone, Samsung, and Guinness, in addition to the launches of London’s 2012 Olympic Games, Atlantis The Palm, The O2 Arena, and the EE BAFTA Film Awards.  

Together, the Co-Founders agreed to blend their experience and evolve the traditional agency model, to create an offering with a unique perspective, designed to serve what they could see were clients’ emerging needs in social.
