Butter Music and Sound taps composer Coke Youngblood
Youngblood merges a myriad of organic and synthetic sounds with powerful vocals and hard-hitting beats for a range of self and co-produced projects.
International music shop Butter Music and Sound has signed Coke Youngblood as a staff composer out of Los Angeles.
A skilled musician by way of Texas in instruments ranging from guitars to keys to bass and beyond, he merges a myriad of organic and synthetic sounds with powerful vocals and hard-hitting beats for a range of self- and co-produced projects.
From his established collection, his singles from projects Little Brothr, FLOWERZ, Wandering Wanda, Truli, MANHATTN, and others were synced in brand ads for Buick, Nintendo, DirecTV, Amtrak, Target, Netflix, and many more. His songs have been featured on television series and film for shows and movies such as Wish Upon, Atypical, Charmed, American Gods, the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Veronica Mars, MTV’s Catfish, Ball In The Family, 68 Whiskey, and Selling Sunset.
His most recent album coming out this October, ASTROKNOTA x MARIO STERLING melds Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, and some Texas spice with Los Angeles songwriter and collaborator Sterling.
Notes LA EP Annick Mayer, “We have been working with Coke for a few years now on a freelance basis and he would just blow us all away every time we worked together. We are so honored to make the partnership official and feel so lucky to have such an amazing talent join our team!”
Adds Youngblood, “I had been working with BUTTER a lot as a freelancer and it was always such a pleasure. They get really cool jobs, pay the best, and we all just get along, a true dream team”
Youngblood followed the siren call of a music career from his native San Antonio, Texas to first the OC, then Los Angeles after finishing high school. After a handful of internships, he joined Interscope Records first as an intern, then as an employee in the Marketing department. He juggled his day job with composing original music for a steady stream of faithful television clients as well as earning an Audio Engineering degree from The Recording Connection. Between the three occupations, he familiarised himself with the sync industry and slowly planned his pivot toward the music side under the watchful eyes of fellow mentors. Thanks to his happenstantial neighbour, Butter Music and Sound EP Tim Kvasnosky, he began working alongside Butter in a freelance capacity before joining the team full-time this Fall.
