The advertising industry has an issue with the idea of sales, despite that literally being the only reason we exist.

It’s uncool, sure. We’re not artistic salesmen, we’re artists who just happen to sell ideas. That’s why so many production companies refuse to address those selling their talent as ‘salespeople’, but rather ‘directors reps’.

So, to help Business Club 'not sell' is Noah Matthews. A bloke so oblivious to corny sales tactics that when MD Tom Berendsen asked him to “sell me this pen” Matthews just asked to borrow it for the Metro crossword.

Matthews is excited to get started and build on what Business Club has already achieved so far. Being invited into such a refined team is a big honour and it feels a bit like being made in the Mafia, but this time with less murder and Joe Pesci…hopefully.

This industry is always calling out for fresh ideas and Matthews brings them aplenty. As well as being an experienced copywriter, Matthews actually comes from a background in live comedy. He has enjoyed sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, Brighton Fringe and London’s Off-West End alongside being nominated for a British Comedy Guide Award. Don’t fret though, he’s deadly serious when it comes to representing the talented directors at Business Club.
