BUCK expands European presence with London office and key new hire
James Britton joins BUCK as part of growing UK talent base.
BUCKis expanding in Europe with a new office in London and has hired James Britton as Executive Producer to lead its UK team.
Britton joins BUCK from Stink Studios where he was Group Managing Director for over a decade.
The new London office is BUCK’s second location in Europe, following the opening of its Amsterdam office in 2021. BUCK, which also has locations in Los Angeles, New York, and Sydney, now has five offices globally.
Britton will lead a stellar team in the UK, including Associate Creative Director Jen Zhang, Senior Producer Jamey Kitchens, Animation Director Joe Brooks, Senior Designer and Animator Bianca Beneduci, and a seasoned creative team spanning design, animation, branding and experience with Creative Leadership under ECD and partner, Vincent Lammers.
Britton’s work as a sustainability champion will bolster BUCK’s efforts in this space as it pursues its B Corp certification. Britton brings with him certifications as a B Leader with B Corp UK and experience as a non-executive advisor to the carbon measurement start-up, Zevero.
Britton brings a wealth of experience to BUCK, having worked with global clients such as Spotify, Google, Nike, and UK cultural icons such as Warp Records, iD Magazine, and Tate. Having previously worked with AKQA and Nike, he spent a 12-year tenure at Stink Studios, helping to grow the agency to more than 120 people, winning multiple awards at Cannes Lions and D&AD.
Over the years, BUCK has developed its offering across every aspect of the creative process, with work including a campaign for GitHub featuring comedian Phil Wang, and a takeover of London's new Outernet location for WeTransfer. BUCK has also delivered global work for clients such as Google and Airbnb and developed Augmented and Mixed Reality projects for Dior and Fendi.
BUCK won its second Emmy last year for We the People, made in collaboration with the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions and Netflix, and is launching its first game, Let's! Revolution!, this summer.
Britton said: “For many years, I’ve admired BUCK’s commitment to craft and artistry. I’m looking forward to growing our team of diverse talent to bring brands, stories, and experiences to life here in the UK. There’s so much creative talent here, not just in London but across the UK, from Brighton to Bristol, Manchester to Glasgow, and everywhere in between.”
Emily Rickard, President at BUCK, said: “After immense success building our Amsterdam team under the leadership of ECD and partner Vincent Lammers, James is the perfect choice to continue BUCK’s global expansion in the UK market. There's a lot of opportunity with clients and talent and James brings deep knowledge across both areas.”
