This endearing campaign Sounds like a job for British Gas demonstrates the breadth of British Gas's home services via the medium of an adorable family of blue fluffballs – The Things – who encounter a broken Monday morning thanks to boiler issues.

Created in partnership with creative agency of record VCCP and media agency OMD, the campaign aims to shift perceptions of British Gas from a traditional energy provider to a trusted home services expert for both customers and non-customers. It taps into a universal human experience: when things go wrong in the home, it consumes your whole world and hijacks your life.

The AV was directed by thirtytwo, straight off the back of their Oasis documentary. It was produced through Anonymous Content, in collaboration with VCCP's global content creation studio Girl&Bear, who also led the production of OOH and social assets.

The fully integrated campaign runs across TV, OOH, radio, online video and social, using short-form AV and OOH to highlight British Gas’ broader whole-home services - reassuring customers that when electrics blow they will fix it first time, and when pipes leak they are there day or night.

The commercial dramatises how the choreographed chaos of a Monday morning is disrupted by a faulty boiler. The film highlights British Gas’ offer for same-day engineer callouts when booked before 11am, with a new no fee if the issue cannot be fixed. The campaign was ideated by VCCP creatives Haley Koehn and Louise Organ.

David Masterman, Executive Creative Director at VCCP in London added: “A broken boiler or a leaking pipe doesn't just disrupt your morning - it brings your life to a standstill. One ice-cold shower and suddenly your whole world is turned upside down. This campaign captures that domestic chaos with love and warmth, showing how British Gas engineers step in with steady reassurance and a no-nonsense 'No Fix, No Pay' promise to put everything right.”

The campaign runs nationwide from 15th October across TV, OOH, print, radio, online video and social.
