On Monday March 25th, 2019, music houses Tuesday Collective and Circle of Sound announced the launch of their joint venture, citizenmusic.com a library built specifically for advertising.

Managing director, Theo de Gunzburg explains that, “with post-production turnaround times now being so fast, it’s of great value to have high quality recordings ahead of time so clients can select what they like and customize them instantaneously.”

The Citizen team have spent the last two years recording everything from 36-piece orchestras in Budapest to big bands in LA’s East West recording studios.

“We believe that it’s important to invest time and money into recording live,” explains Creative Partner Tomas Jacobi. “When a brand is trying to tell a human story, the expression of the instruments are key to communicating the emotion of the narrative.”

With an estimated worth of $2BN from Forbes, library music is nothing new. However, existing options often fail to meet the needs of today’s advertising brands who place the utmost importance on exclusivity and fully customizable tracks.

Citizen Music is able to satisfy those requirements by offering both exclusive and non-exclusive licenses and the ability customize all tracks when requested to do so.

Creative partner Nico Barry states that, “it’s a misconception to think that music must be sacrificed to accommodate the growing volume of digital content being released. If anything, you need exceptional music to cut through the noise.”
