Multifaceted bicoastal production company ArtClass continues to usher in new waves of talent by signing advertising creative-turned-filmmaker Tatjana Green, who makes her entrance into the U.S. market by joining the creative team.

A graduate of the elite Bauhaus Design School in her native Germany, Green saw advertising as a platform for honing her natural eye for aesthetics. Right out of the gate, Green landed her first job at 18 years old as a graphic designer for art house Butter, where she was mentored in all forms of media production. She spent the next eight years working for various European ad agencies including Sillmotion, Red Box Inc., Saatchi & Saatchi Düsseldorf, and Tenzing, before branching out on her own in 2010, establishing the creative studio Brought To You By.

The transition from ad design to motion film was an opportunity to help Green’s ideas see the light of day in the larger production footprint. After spending many years in the board room with conservative executives who wanted to play it safe, all Green wanted to do was shake things up. At the helm of Brought To You By, she found the freedom to take charge. Since then, Green has remained a step ahead of the competition by offering clients a unique dual perspective, anticipating their marketing needs from her ad background married with her film director’s eye.

One of Tatjana’s first independent projects was the narrative short, Ole Boy, which she co-directed with Jamie Newman. Shot at a local bar in just eight hours, the film is a burst of improv among a lively cast of characters - a stark departure from the tight-scripted commercial world.

Tatjana has directed a range of commercials, shorts, series, and music videos, earning recognition from the Webby Awards to screening at international film festivals all over, from Berlin to Toronto. Green’s combined expertise in has packed a powerful punch, delivering first-class creative content services for brands including P&G, Absolut, Toyota, Tassimo, US Foods, The Economist, Warner, Walmart and many more.

Of her inspired directing style, Green says, “I love to find the depth in composition, color and lighting in the subterranean elements of art design and live action film. I’ll never know everything about it, but that’s what makes it so exciting. You can always breathe life into something new.”

Green was recruited to ArtClass by Executive Producer Kate Aspell, who says: “Tatjana is a director who craves collaboration and believes in putting creativity first. We are beyond excited that she’s found a home at ArtClass.”

The innovative filmmaker-slash-ad honcho is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve up compelling content with the team. As Tatjana says, “ArtClass doesn’t dismiss small ideas, and I admire that. They always encourage their directors to advance that vision forward in service of the bigger picture.”
