Arcade Edit signs Quin Williams
Williams signs with Arcade Edit for US representation on the heels of Acura TLX campaign.
Established UK editor, Quin Williams signs with US-based editing house, Arcade Edit. This is Quin’s first signing in the States.
Across the pond, Quin is known for being the founding partner of tenthree where he has worked with directors such as Ben Wheatley, Neil Gorringe, James Griffiths, Mark Jenkinson, Tom Barbor-Might, and Stuart Douglas. He has been recognized and awarded for his work with notable brands: Acura, Samsung, Land Rover, McDonalds, Shell and BMW. Quin’s signing coincides with the release of the latest Acura TLX campaign with his longtime collaborator Mark Jenkinson of Imperial Woodpecker.
EP/Partner Sila Soyer said of the collaboration: "When we worked with Quin on Acura earlier this year, we were struck by his talent and how well he fit in with our culture. It just made sense that we try and figure out a way to work together more often. At first the pandemic put a pause on things, but brought with it the realization that location no longer matters with so much work being done remotely. It was a no-brainer.”
Quin was born in South Africa and moved to England when he was 12. He wanted to be an artist and studied painting and sculpture at Wimbledon College of Arts. He became fascinated with editing after stumbling upon a ¾ U-matic VTR Editor while visiting a friend at work. For the last 27 years he has been involved with filmmaking in one form or another: as a script editor, a writer, a director for music videos, documentaries and shorts. Despite these experiences, editing has always been his main driving passion. While his strengths lie in storytelling and performance, he strongly believes that variety and challenge are essential fuel for the editing process.
Collaborative by nature, Quin believes that achieving the best film possible is about finding common ground with all of the creative partners involved. With a wide span of experience in editing TV, feature documentaries, drama, music videos and commercials, he looks forward to new creative challenges and is excited about the opportunities available to him in the US market.
Quin elaborates: “I’ve been a huge admirer of Arcade for many years now. It’s rare to see a company with such a consistent stream of great, creative work, and I am genuinely over the moon to be a part of such a brilliant team.”
