The Brooklyn native's background in classical dance guides his distinct and rhythmic approach to film.
Director, DP, and founder of creative production studio Equator Productions, Anthony Prince Leslie, has signed to Black Dog Films for UK representation.
A Brooklyn native and first-generation Jamaican American, Anthony’s background in classical dance and performance guides his distinct and rhythmic approach to film, bringing his love of movement and abstraction to the lens.
Through his New York creative studio Equator Anthony has established a community of collaborators and creators who aim to tell authentic stories and help others to tell theirs, bringing ideas to life for the likes of Nike, Facebook, Google, and Gucci.
“Anthony’s a remarkable talent” says Martin Roker, Global Head of Black Dog. “He brings something fresh to our roster, and we think the industry. As a filmmaker Anthony’s work champions authenticity in storytelling, celebrating underrepresented voices. Our values of creative expression align, so I’m really looking forward to collaborating with Anthony and finding that space between culture, brand, and music”.
After completing his studies in Video Production at the Art Institute of New York City, Anthony spent the early years of his career with Vox Media developing short and long form concepts, before establishing Equator in 2017. In 2020, he was selected as one of the artists for Google Creator Labs, an annual celebration of some of the most exciting global creative talents, championing work tackling today’s socio-political landscape. His recent collaborations include Equinox, The American Ballet Theatre, Spotify, New Balance, Nike, and Facebook.
"I’m ready to take my direction to the next level with Black Dog. I truly feel that seeing is believing and every time I explore my voice behind the lens, I know there will soon follow a young, inspired mind opening to new possibilities because of my existence. With my work, I look to create thought provoking visuals that inspire people to question their conditioned understanding of the world we live in. I’m most eager to continue my growth as a director and to collaborate with a new network of forward-thinking creatives, introducing them to my Equator community" Anthony Prince Leslie.
