Berlin based director and photographer Lennart Brede collaborated with Nomad London to create this high voltage, spectacularly visual spot for Adidas x About You, showing off their latest Winter collection, designed to keep athletes warm, confident and comfortable.

Shot in Berlin over 1 day and 1 night, Brede says “It was exciting to shoot film and photos for the new Adidas x About You Winter collection COLD.RDY. I wanted to give it a warm feel in the look but I had to stay in a Winter-season storytelling wise, staying close to the tech-looking fashion pieces. We shot on 16mm in September and we put a lot of work in the VFX and grade to give it a Winter vibe. The mappings in the film add another style to it which I am really happy with." "The post production ran under the ’new normal’, all done remotely by Nomad in London and luckily under one roof which always saves time. It’s always great being able to jump from edit suite to grading tests and back to the VFX suite in one run.”

Brede regularly works with Nomad’s Partner/Editor James Norris and Norris had this to say “Using film, the footage Lenny created was unique, full of richness and character, at times abstract and at times beautifully real, it was a joy to work with. I’m really proud of this one”.

Nomad’s resident colourist, Felipe Szulc added “I loved working with Lenny and Hunter Daly! Grading film is always exciting and the texture and richness you can extract from it are unbeatable. Overall we tried to explore rich, thick shadows and contrast and let the grain of the footage emerge naturally. For the projection mapping shots we worked on a more ’sci-fi’ look with cooler tones and a slight glow in the highlights”.

Martin Goodwin, Nomad Partner and Head of VFX also loved “working with Lenny and the team on this 16mm Adidas x About You project. It was good fun playing with extra ice and snow flurries adding to the Winter feel already caught on camera”.
