SF-based ad agency Eleven and Dignity Health, one of the nation’s largest hospital systems, developed, "Humankindness Heals," which featuring video that went viral in January 2016. Posted by the Gainesville Police Department, the video features a cop playing basketball with a group of kids after he received a noise complaint about them from a neighbor. The spot is a great example of humankindness and reinforces our belief that we all hold the power to heal our communities through acts of humankindness, big and small.

Dignity Health created the Hello Humankindness campaign in 2013 to offer a humanizing approach to health care and to inspire a movement that embraces the healing power of humanity. This aspirational message moves beyond health care and, is grounded in the notion that everyone has the power to heal – body, mind and spirit.

Dignity Health chose to take its Hello humankindness campaign to the next level by tackling societal tensions that tear communities apart. This newest commercial serves as a reminder that meaningful human connections unify us – not divide us. This evolution of the Hello humankindness movement looks to tap into deeper social issues that are a threat to our overall health. The intent of this commercial is not to make a statement on specific events, but to embrace our shared humanity through acts of humankindness like this one on the basketball court.
