You'd best have a tissue at the ready for this Scandi Christmas tear-jerker from electronics retailer Elkjop.

Created by Nord DDB, the four-minute film tells the story of a little girl and an older relative, who form a bond through their love of flying machines after she discovers a vintage bi-plane hidden away in his garage. The action cuts between the present day, where the girl is flying her drone, and the old man's romantic past as an adventurous young pilot.

In a clever twist, the narratives mirror each other; we see the young man crawling away from the wreckage of his plane in the aftermath of a terrible accident, while the drone crashes into a tree and breaks into pieces. But in a heart-warming ending, the little girl wakes up to a special present on Christmas morning, which shows how with a bit of thought, gifts can be so much more than mere objects.

The film was directed by Rune Milton via Bleck Film Stockholm.
