Belly Flop

A novice swimmer's less-than-accomplished attempts at diving save the day in this charming animated short. 

Set at a local lido, the film tells the story of an ambitious little girl who, totally unperturbed by a lack of experience and technique, is inspired by a rival to work her way up the diving tower. Although the result is more belly-flop than swallow dive, there's an unexpected silver lining, which you'll have to watch to the end to find out.

Co-directed by Kelly Dillon and Jeremy Collins, and produced by Cape Town animation studio Triggerfish, this week marks the online premiere for the film, which has already bagged seven international awards and screened at over 60 international festivals including the closing ceremony at Annecy 2018.
