Trunk Animation brings the creative and curatorial process behind the Beatles' iconic White Album artwork to life in this mesmerising promo.
Directors Alasdair Brotherston and Jock Mooney, aka Alasdair + Jock, delved deep into the archives to create the intricate video, which features thousands of photos animated by a plethora of techniques ranging from stop-motion, live action and hand drawn 2D on paper to 3D modelling, scratch film, rostrum cut out replacements, pixelation and hand painted artworking.
As the track plays, images are added and removed, elements are coloured and manipulated, film footage is run and spliced, and hand-drawn elements literally jump off the page. Marvellous stuff.
