BETC: Make a Fashion Statement Against Animal Extinction
If you're an animal lover and a Lacoste polo shirt wearer, then BETC's new Save our Species campaign will appeal to you.
Lacoste's crocodile motif is one of the most iconic and widely-recognised brands in the world, but who knew it also stood against animal extinction?
Well it didn't until BETC decided to launch a campaign to promote the work of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and its three year partnership with the brand.
Working closely with the team, the agency identified which ten species were most under threat and decided to replace the highly praised croc with the other animals, creating a limited-edition line of polo shirts for all you animal lovers (and shirt wearers).
Whether you fancy supporting the Anegada Rock Iguana or the Vaquita, the polo shirts - 1,775 in total - were unveiled today as part of Paris Fashion Week. Although they're also available to buy through Lacoste's website.
The Save Our Species campaign is aimed at reminding the public about the importance of caring for threatened species and their habits; so it's not just about making a fashion statement but also about understanding what's at stake for the animals' future.
