This new promo for Royal Blood, directed by The Sacred Egg through Riff Raff Films London, is the second video collaboration between the two collectives in 2017, the first being Lights Out.
How Did We Get So Dark? is a beautifully shot, stylish-looking film which follows an unnamed, bearded man with a gun who is, seemingly collecting white rabbits on pain of death. Weird? Yes. Captivating? Definitely. "The idea was inspired by an image we had in our minds of an old, black muscle car covered in white rabbits," says the directing team. "From this we started to create a narrative which incorporated different themes of power and innocence, all set within a cinematic, dark world. There is no true meaning, we wanted people to interpret it any way they want, especially given the music and the title of the song."
