What’s the best ad campaign you’ve seen recently?

I really enjoy the latest spots for Visa directed by Sam Hibbard. Rummager is comedy gold. If you can make someone chuckle in 30 seconds then you are doing something right. Timing is everything and these are spot on.

What website(s) do you use most regularly and why?
Formular1, BBC News..... And ASOS, much to my bank balance's disgust...

What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?
I bought a Fitbit. It's the best way to keep a track of how fit and healthy I am. Only so many green juices will do that!

Facebook, Instagram or Twitter?
All three I guess, I have them all linked as it's all so accessible these days. All of my work gets blogged about via MSE's website and my own so it's nice to support that with social media bite size snippets.

What’s your favorite app on your phone and why?
Spotify. You can't march to the station in silence in the morning!

What’s your favorite TV show and why?
I have recently been watching Ozark with Jason Bateman. It had me hooked from the first episode, but nothing quite comes close to Game of Thrones. Love everything about it. The attention to detail, the locations, the effects. All the twists and turns make it hard to stop watching.

What film do you think everyone should have seen?
The Goonies. It's exactly what every kid who has ever gone digging for treasure would want to find.

Where were you when inspiration last struck?
I was working on a spot for Arsenal/Puma with Peter Lee Scott. Shooting for two days with a doco feel, meant a lot of footage to choose from. My selects were about 45 minutes long! Chopping that down to size was a lot of fun and we got there surprisingly quickly.

What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?
Opportunity. When I first started out as a runner, you didn't have the likes of Kickstarter and Phundee to help you get a project off the ground.

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?
Compulsory edit suite candles. Presentations run more smoothly in a deliciously scented room.

What or who has most influenced your career and why?
Over the years I have worked with some incredibly talented people. I have to give a lot of thanks to Trevor Melvin. He took a chance on me when I had just moved up from assisting and gave me my first job as an editor. He is a dear friend and a fantastic director. I love that we still work together even after all these years.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know…
I can demolish 12 Krispy Kremes with no hesitation.
