22squared create Outdoor Billboards to Remember Irma
Wrecked posters are transformed after agency repairs them to offer hope and unity to Florida community.
Tampa-based agency 22squared aims to unite the community in Florida following the devastation and destruction left after Hurricane Irma.
The agency created a series of billboards in its Irma Gives Back campaign, using rubble and damaged resources caused by the storm.
In just five days, the 22squared employees volunteered their time to put the campaign together.
Billboards that were previously left wrecked (at top) and ruined after the storm, were patched together with messages of hope to remind residents of the importance of community and symbolically asking them for Irma’s redemption.
“Many of us have family or friends that have been affected by Irma, so this has been a deeply personal project for all of us,” says the agency’s associate creative director, Garen Bogosian. “The idea started with a small group, but as word spread throughout the agency, we had an outpouring of volunteers helping transform these signs of destruction and devastation into signs of hope, and a rallying cry for our communities to come together.”
