Fans of cult sci-fi film Blade Runner are in for a treat with this new short offering a clue as to what happened between the original film and its long awaited sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
Directed by Luke Scott, son of Ridley Scott, executive producer of the upcoming film and director of the famed 1982 neo-noir classic, the in-world prologue stars Jared Leto and Benedict Wong and was filmed on set during principal photography for 2049.
With the first film set in 2019, and the sequel in 2049, 2036: Nexus Dawn takes place in the year 2036 and revolves around Leto’s character, Niander Wallace, as he aims to repeal the prohibition on replicants.
