Archer, a Chicago-based company that specialises in home products for men, has released the largest endorsement deal of all time.

Boasting a $3.4 billion contract with baseball pitcher Clay Chapman, it tops the ATP’s chart-topping $60 million deal with tennis player Roger Federer and the NBA’s $54 million sponsorship with basketballer LeBron James.

But what makes Chapman’s deal so unique is the fact that the Windy City ThunderBolts athlete will receive the payout over the next 10 million years… which means he will receive $340 per year.

The contract was announced yesterday at a local press conference held in the city, coinciding with the brand’s launch of new products like washing up liquids and candles, suitably scented for men.

The stunt was coordinated by FCB Chicago, as several agency members are also co-founders of the company.

Of the stunt, co-founder John Bleeden (also FCB producer) says, “We were struck by how perfectly Mr. Chapman fit with our brand. He is a young pitcher with the best years of his career ahead of him. We feel the same way about our company - our best years are coming.”
