The latest in Halifax's series featuring classic children's TV stars sees Parker finally liberated from Lady Penelope thanks to Halifax's prize draw.
After ads featuring Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, and Top Cat, adam&eveDDB have moved out of the Hanna-Barbera stable of cartoons and onto Tracy Island. For Halifax is Go!, directed by Dom&Nic of Outsider, Parker pops into his local branch of Halifax to check on a letter he's received, only to find he's won the bank's £500,000 Halifax Savers Prize Draw Superdraw. Cut to Lady Penelope looking for her faithful servant, who is taking it easy on the beach.
As well as bringing together what Halifax managing director call two 'British and iconic' brands, the ad also busts this reporter's preconceived notions about the working relationship between Penelope and Parker. Who knew he was paid? We'd just always assumed that the rules against slavery were a little looser on Tracy Island.
