To kick off a new season of Mars programmes - which launched at the weekend - Aardman Animations and BBC Radio 4 have called on Captain Kirk to lend a hand.

Directed by Danny Capozzi, the three-minute-short is a celebration of our little red neighbour and the mystery that surrounds it.

Created in a pulp fiction style and featuring 1950's stylings, William Shatner takes viewers on a fact-filled trip to the red planet, to boldly go where no man has gone before...
