Cannes Lions Announces 2017 Jury Presidents
The first batch of jury presidents have been selected across 16 categories.
Cannes Lions has revealed who the first jury presidents will be across 16 of its categories.
“We’re delighted to present such a formidable team of Jury Presidents, selected for their razor-sharp skill and experience in their respective disciplines,” says Cannes Lions’ managing director Jose Papa.
Wieden + Kennedy’s global CCO Colleen DeCourcy will lead the Cyber Lions category, having chaired this category exactly 10 years ago and has revealed that she’s looking to compare how the category has progressed since.
UNIT9’s creative director Henry Cowling will chair the Digital Craft Lions, while Dentsu Brand Agencies’ CCO Ted Lim will take the Direct Lions category. Founder and creative director Sandra Planeta of Swedish Planeta Design will oversee the Design Lions jury, and is keen to explore the relationship between sustainable development and brands.
Deutsch North America’s CCO Pete Favat will look after the Film Lions category while FINCH Australia’s founder/executive producer Robert Galluzzo will assume the presidency for the Film Craft Lions category. The Glass Lions category will be chaired by DDB Worldwide USA’s CEO Wendy Clark who hopes that now is as poignant a time as ever to focus on gender equality.
PHD's worldwide CEO Mike Cooper will lead the Media Lions jury, while AKQA’s head of emerging technologies Andy Hood will take the Mobile Lions category. Publicis' global CCO Bruno Bertelli will look after the Outdoor Lions category, while Grey Africa’s CCO Fran Luckin will be in charge of the Print & Publishing Lions category.
Stéphane Xiberras, president and CCO at BETC France will chair the Promo & Activation Lions and YES architecture’s owner Ruth Berktold will manage the Product Design Lions category. The PR Lions will be chaired by Omnicom Public Relations Group’s CEO Karen van Bergen, while Dentsu Brazil’s president and CCO Mario D'Andrea will oversee the Radio Lions category.
Ogilvy & Mather’s co-chairman and worldwide CCO Tham Khai Meng will take the Titanium and Integrated Lions. He says, “I very much look forward to working with our Titanium jurors to discover the innovation that is the future of our industry and to celebrate the fearless pioneers who are taking us there."
