PAULi Unveils Debut EP via Rohan Blair Mangat
Social platform Vero hosts emerging British artist PAULi’s first visual EP, The Idea of Tomorrow, to its app users.
The best way to release new music these days seems to be on an exclusive platform. Think back to Beyonce’s launch of her visual album Lemonade in April, which was only available in its entirety on her hubby’s music platform, Tidal.
Emerging UK artist PAULi has taken a leaf out of the Bootylicious star’s handbook with the release of his first visual EP, The Idea of Tomorrow.
Watch the trailer for the promo below:
Instead of being released on Tidal, PAULi has chosen to partner with latest social platform, Vero to release the track. The six-minute-long EP is available for free to those who download the Vero app.
Helmed by award-winning Iconoclast director Rohan Blair Mangat and with a brief introductory voiceover from The Wire actor Idris Elba, the promo is beautifully abstract and explores one man’s search for love and purpose in life.
The spot opens with Elba questioning the beauty of ideas, while seemingly disconnected images flash before the viewer. Accompanied by the music, which contains soothing synths, the images seem random but related to the lyrics of the song.
