Understandably, the current political battling and buffoonery in America is turning everyone a bit crackers. So what’s the best thing to go with crackers? Why, cheese of course… To which end Macy’s and BBH NY have unveiled a spot that’s cheesier than a Wotsit dipped in fondue.

Celebrating the 90th anniversary of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the TVC, titled Old Friends, has been directed by Noam Murro and produced by Biscuit with sumptuous attention to period detail in its depiction of the Parade's early days. Dialogue-free, but with soaring violins supplying ample auditory cheese enhancements, the film is a fable about two old friends and the special role the parade has played in their lives for 90 years.

Airing on NBC during this year’s Parade, it celebrates the event’s ability to bring people together. “Macy’s is an iconic brand that has been at the centre of American popular culture for more than 150 years,” said Hemant Anant Jain, copywriter/CD at BBH NY.  “As we move into the end of a divisive year, we hope our little fable can bring people together to ‘believe,’ as the Parade has done for the last 90 years."
