A new short film sheds some light on why the IKEA catalogue is always so meticulously put together. Torbjörn Lundberg is 34-year-old Swede who lives in Malmö and his job is to impersonate furniture.
As a furniture impersonator, his role is to ensure that the lighting in the photo studio is perfectly adjusted to show the new chairs, tables, lamps and shelves quite literally in their best light.
This funny three-and-a-half-minute film, showcasing the release of the 2016 IKEA catalogue and the brilliantly low-key Torbjorn's role in it, was created for IKEA Switzerland by Wirz Zurich and director Björn Rühmann.
