powered byGlobal consumer watchdog SumOfUS takes aim at Pepsi Crystal in this new PSA based on the classic 90s Pepsi Super Bowl spot.
Parodying the iconic big game spot (below) in which 90s supermodel Cindy Crawford pulls up to a gas station and orders a drink from the vending machine, this PSA looks decidedly less refreshing.
SumOfUs released the PSA to shine light on PepsiCo, the soft drink's parent company, business practices. Pepsi buys over 470,000 metric tons of palm oil per year to make products such as Doritos (who they spoofed in last year's Cheesy Love Story), Cheetos, Quaker Granola Bars, and Lay’s crisps.
According to the campaign the company's is responsible for rainforest destruction, speeding up the extinction of endangered animals and unethical treatment of workers.
