As the ECD of independent creative agency XXS Amsterdam, it's no surprise that Remy Kurpershoek has an eye for a stylish shot. Seen through his monochromatic lens, the daily grind of meetings, presentations and online awards judging feels more like an arty film noir - with Billy Joel providing the soundtrack.

07.48: You catch me on a really, really, early morning starting off with morning coffee and - like the stranger next to me - checking my phone. My Facebook timeline reads: 'Gary Vaynerchuk; Graduating in the next few weeks or last few weeks?... Please give me 4:40 of your attention to really understand your next 5 years'.

08.05: As I drive off to work my car-connect auto radio starts with She’s Always a Woman from Billy Joel's The Stranger. Must be a result from my late drive home after an easy Sunday on Timboektoe beach.

08.21: After a weekend of being 72 and sunny, again a virgin blue sky before entering the office.

08.40: Catching up on the weekend with my creative partner, Hans van Nood. The last coffee call before our first creative client focus meeting starts. Mmm, Monday morning meeting!

11.28: Sticky (notes) tissue session. Hmm … what a way to kill your darlings …

15.23: Refuelling creative energy after a strong new business creative brief meeting.

15.45: Photo shoot update by WhatsApp for Holland’s number 1 love brand, HEMA.

16.31: Fly on the wall while our young talents amp up their presentation skills with a refreshing and sticky internal elevator pitch - Alzheimer Chewing Gum.

17.54: Start of the online judging process for Kyiv International Advertising Festival. I’m part of the film & radio category jury; I sure hope the radio is subtitled.

19.49: Home. Last sun beams on my roof. Again, but not for long, Amsterdam’s blue sky. Got the munchies. Oef, forgot about lunch… Luckily a dinner with friends awaits. Curious to see what this Monday night will bring. *Mic drop*. Remy out.
