It’s no secret that Africa is currently facing a bit of a water crisis.
Clean drinking water is not easy to find in Africa and children often skip school to trek six kilometres and deliver water to their families.
Bearing this in mind, KBS Toronto has created The Well Water campaign (shot in South Africa, above) for Canadian NGO, World Vision – an organisation that strives to improve children’s lives around the world. In this instance, this means providing African communities with wells so that they can regularly access clean drinking water.
With the installation of these wells, community productivity and health can vastly improve and children can attend school again.
The agency has also launched The Watercolour Project (below) helmed by David Quach, which uses the clean well water in Rwanda to raise money for neighbouring villages.
Children from the village of Gasbo experimented with watercolours and had their paintings sent to a Toronto auction last week to mark World Water Day (March 22).
Enough funds were raised from the evening that a nearby village can now have its own well too.
