We all know that VR is one of the key buzzwords for 2016, so with that in mind, it might seem only natural that brands are looking to jump onto the virtual reality bandwagon and experience all that it has to offer.

And Martell cognac is no different.

Together with AKQA, the brand is launching its latest special edition cognac by unveiling interactive game, La French Touch.

By unwrapping the brandy bottle, buyers can convert the packaging into a Google Cardboard headset that allows fans to truly experience the 360 game.

Gamers will be transported to the French town of Cognac, where they will required to fly Martell’s mascot - the swift bird - to a bar in Shanghai. Passing rivers, mountains and an ocean, players will be able to see the sights and explore their surroundings while racking up their scores.

Featuring music from French DJ/producer Etienne de Crécy, the 360 video game can be accessed via your mobile by clicking here.

“With La French Touch we were inspired to bring VR to a wider audience by offering a product design that could be transformed into a VR headset and by making the brand experience accessible directly in the mobile browser,” says AKQA’s creative director Peter Lund.

So, why not embrace the game while enjoying a fancy tipple? It's almost rude not to.
