If you thought playing an instrument was hard, try playing an old gas or electricity meter.
That’s what the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did in a campaign for SmartEnergyGB - to mark the end of estimated energy bills, which will be in effect as of 2020.
A Requiem for Meters saw members of the Orchestra perform a three-minute-long symphony on custom-made instruments, repurposed from old gas and electricity meters welded together.
To reignate the magic among the musicians, they were sent to the iconic Abbey Road Studios to record their unique track… which meant of course, they had to pose (as The Beatles did) on the internationally recognised zebra crossing (below).
The song will be available to download for free on Spotify.
