Following this morning’s news that same sex marriage is now legalised across the whole of the US, Youtube has become one of the first to post a celebratory video.
The #ProudToLove spot promotes marriage equality which corresponds with LGBT Pride Month (June) and the annual Pride march, held in London tomorrow.
The spot, helmed by Scott Chan of Whirled, features several Youtube clips of users posting videos of themselves coming out – either to their fans, friends or family.
It also contains footage of many couples - both high profile and otherwise - proposing to their better halves and exchanging wedding vows.
Although it was a close call – with a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling – the decision will be life changing to many American citizens and to American history, something that Youtube pays tribute to in the emotive spot.
