With Memorial Day, the US federal holiday for remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces, having just passed CP+B has created this poignant campaign to raise awareness of a shocking issue.
Every day in the US, it has been reported that 22 servicemen and women commit suicide. Mission 22, named after those 22, was set up by veteran non-profit organisation Elder Heart and CP+B to raise awareness, enlist support and end veteran suicides in America.
To get the point across the organisation enlisted the support of war photographer David Guttenfelder. Guttenfelder has spent more than 20 years abroad, taking photos of the most dangerous places on the planet, but now has turned his lens on a far more daunting battle: the fight against post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The affecting campaign sees Guttenfelder head to several veterans' homes to take pictures of the place where they lost their personal post-war battles.
