D&AD is launching a new pilot education initiative in partnership with Hackney Council and advertising agency BBH, which aims to work with local schools to help foster a better understanding of the creative industries. Drawing upon the principles of D&AD New Blood, NowCreate: Hackney will challenge kids to tackle a real, industry-led brief and utilise creativity as an agent of social good entitled ‘How can we ensure older people are less isolated?’ Following the briefing, students will have two weeks to work together to produce a two-minute film explaining their idea. The final product will then be judged by industry experts before preparing a final pitch to be presented to Hackney Council.
